Rick Allen is the drummer for Def Leppard and is known to all as "THE THUNDER GOD",

Rick John Cyril Allen was born on November 1, 1963 in Dronfield, Derbyshire, England. Rick currently lives in LA with his wife Lauren and daughter Lauren Shane.

Rick was struck by the music bug very early in his childhood, and at age 10 received his first drum set. He practiced for about 6 months before playing with his first band Smoking Blue. Rick later played with Rampant and the Johnny Kalendar Band. Ultimately fate would take control and on November 28, 1978 at the age of 15, he would fullfill his destiny by replacing Frank Noon as the drummer for Def Leppard.

On December 31, 1984 while driving his corvette near Sheffield, England, Rick was involved in a car accident which left him with only one arm. This was quite a shock to Rick and the rest of the band and at that point the future of Def Leppard was uncertain. Through perserverance, hard work, the support of his family and friends, and the creation of his electronic drum kit; Rick was able to triumph over this tragedy and become the one armed drummer.

When Rick Allen is not recording or touring with Def Leppard, he is involved in the Raven Drum Foundation which he co-founded with wife Lauren Monroe in 2001. The foundation is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization based out of Malibu, California. Raven Drum provides free educational programs in the healing and expressive arts to inspire personal growth during times of adversity.

Thank you alllllll for the GREAT comments Im getting on my videos. Yes it was a great time. A time I will never forget. To Lori (LuvthatJoe) and her Sister Lynn, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for making this possible for me, without you two I would of never been able to be there. I still have a few more videos to put on here so give me some time and I will post on myspace.com when they are here. Till then, keep enjoying these and hey bring your friends by to share them with you. Im also working on a slideshow of some pictures. I also have to give my friend Chris (Luv4deflep) a Special THANK YOU also. She so graciously invited me to go with her to two Def Leppard Concerts. The one in Noblesville Indiana on the 6th of July and the one in Columbus Ohio on July 8th. "Pyrosteria."

What's the best concert you ever attended?
"Queensryche at the SFX in Dublin. It's a hall that holds about 1000 people. It was on the Empire tour, 1990. The sound was amazing, it was like a huge stereo in a big hall."

What's your all-time favorite TV show?
"An English program called Lovejoy. He's an art dealer, a shady character."

What's your specialty in the kitchen?
"I make a mean prawn dish. Prawns à la Savage: prawns, onions, garlic, tomatoes, and anything else lying around the fridge that's edible--spices or vegetables. I change it every time."

On What TV Show would you like to be a guest?
"An English program, Match of the Day."

What's always in your refrigerator?

"Water."

What was the worst thing that ever happened to you on stage?
"The most painful thing was falling off the stage in Sydney, Australia on the last song of the set, 'Sugar.' I was bruised all over. I don't know how the guitar survived, much less me."

Can you tell us about your first car?
"Volkswagen Gold, 1985, white with a white soft top. It was pretty cool looking. It was the car I passed my driving test in so it will always remain in my heart."

"Women turn me on."

"Playing soccer at school."

"I've got a few. The first one that springs to mind is Pieces of Eight by Styx. I don't mean it as an offense, I loved the group, but now I'm a bit embarrassed to admit I ever did."

What was your worst airplane experience?
"Trying to get to a gig in Austin, TX after playing Shreveport, LA. We had to make a connection in Dallas and the weather was so bad no flights were taking off so we chartered a plane. It was bouncing around."

Do you have any regrets not choosing a soccer career?
"I don't really have regrets, but I often think, I wonder what would've happened, maybe, if..... But I've had such a great life within the music that it's more of a curiousity factor, what would have happened IF. I have no regrets whatsoever. At least I'm still able to play guitar - now I'm struggling to kick a ball, with the way my ankles are and my knees and whatever. I definitely made the right decision!"

Rick Savage on the ladies: fans and groupies
"I'd find myself leading girls on when I didn't realize I was doing it. I try to distingush between proupies and a genuine fan that just wants to get to know you better. But sometimes I'd really fuck up. I'd think I was on to a fan that just wanted to talk. Then I'd find out she's trying to ring me up in the next city and writing letters.
If you have no worries and no responsibilities, having all those girls around is brilliant. And it's still brilliant if you have responsibilities and you can keep them. But it becomes difficult if you start doubting the responsibilities. That's when you can spoil it." (from Animal Instinct)

Rick Savage on Why he bought an apartment in America
"It means that when I come to America I got a place where I can throw my bags instead of checking into a hotel or staying at a girlfriends place."

Rick Savage on "On Through The Night"
"This was our first, recorded in 1979 and released in 1980. Star struck teens at Ringo Starr's home recording studio in the South of England. Motorbikes in the swimming pool, Vodka bottles for days. The most fun any band ever had doing any record in any studio ... which is why we never listen to it anymore."

"I started out in a band called Atomic Mass. We played a lot of old Thin Lizzy and T. Rex tunes in clubs. We fired our vocalist one day and hired Joe in his place. That's when things started to happen. We got Steve [Clark] and Rick [Allen] to join up and Def Leppard was born."

"We used to have two [album] name columns [for Hysteria]. There wasn't much in the 'serious' column. Animal instincts is the only one I can remember. Then there was the 'joke' column. Most of the titles in that one were takeoffs on Pyromania, like Paranoia. One of those was Hysteria. As I remember it, Rick came up with that one. He meant it as a joke, but it caught us all in a serious moment and, for some reason, it stuck. [Peter] Mensch liked it, Joe aid, 'Well, it's alright,' and I said, 'I don't mind.' So it stuck. Nobody objected to it, anyway." (from Animal Instinct)

"Our fans are the best in the world. We know if we ask them to stand and cheer, they will. If we ask them to clap along they will. I guess you could call it a love affair - we love our fans and they love us."

"When we started this band, we always concentrated on the songs. If we had five good songs together, we wouldn't just slap four more 'okay' ones together just so we could go out and play. That's why we spent so much time in that spoon factory in Sheffield before we went out to play. We did that first gig only because Steve was so pissed off and threatening to quit if we didn't go and play a gig. But there was always that feeling there - that we have to do it right. "We're not the type of band that will jump around the dressing room after the show--we ain't got the energy. We sit down and talk very quietly and after twenty minutes everything's back to normal."

Rick Savage on why he wears the glove on his right hand
"It's a golf glove with the fingers cut out. It protects against the blisters." Sav explains that he's been getting blisters at the base of his hand since he started playing a five-string.

"We can't spell deadline, never mind meet one."

"There was never a question of folding up or Rick not being able to do it - it never came up. Through Rick's attitude, we knew that he would pull through."

"Being in a band is all about compromise. When everybody can compromise and still feel they're going in the right direction, then you have a happy band."

"At first all we wanted to do was be successful on our home town."

"We're doing what we want to do. Basically it's just down to the fact that we're all posers. "A good one was the album [Adrenalize] title. I wanted to call the album Dementia. I like the idea of having a trilogy of albums ending with 'ia'. Phil thought it was cool but wondered if it was a little contrived, like we were running out of good ia-sounding words. Joe hated it with a passion. After two and a half hours of discussion, he was so pissed off that we were still talking about this one word that he just turned around and said, 'Well, as far as I'm concerned, you might as well call the album BOB!!'" "I was having a rare weekend back in Sheffield at my local pub and somebody asked me what we were going to call the new album. I said I wasn't sure yet. Somebody turned around and said, "Why don't you call it Halley's Comet? It comes around about as often.' In fact, Halley's Comet has already been out and we are still recording." - December, 1986

Rick Savage on Sav on whether or he'll ever sing lead
"Probably not, not on a fully-fledged Def Leppard song. I've done songs, which have gone out to other artists or whatever, with me singing on, but they're just demos. There is a song called CANDY IN YOUR HANDS, which I think nearly became a Def Leppard B-side. It's got me playing on it and singing, cause no one else performed on the track. So, not in a Def Leppard sense, but we always release "rare" songs, so there's always a chance."

Rick Savage on How he met and proposed to Dara
"At a nightclub in Dublin through a mutal friend. Nothing came out of it. Three weeks later I called her at home and asked her to go for a drink sometime. She didn't believe it was me talking to her. Our first conversation wasn't that great, so she thought someone was having a laugh with her. I said, 'You can call this number and check it out,' and finally she believed me. It went slowly at first... We liked each other very much. But I'm not a very romatic person. I said, 'If things are really going well in six months, let's think about getting married,' we were still together seven months later so we said, 'Let's do it.'"

Rick Savage on On what he likes to do in his spare time
"I love watching sports programmes, specifically soccer. Then less so, probably golf. And I like playing golf, as well... If the weather is good, which is not very often in Dublin! And generally, I like reading magazines and books. So that basically takes most of my time up."

Rick Savage on modern songwriting infulences
"It's funny, cause influences can come from any angle. It could be a line in a book, it could be a song..... I've never really thought about it, if I can only get influences from rock music. Cause, the rock angle of it, is inherently in me - that will come out, regardless of what kind of song I'm trying to write. So consequently, I never really think about it.... I'm a great one for listening to the radio, especially when I'm in the car. I'd much rather listen to the radio than to put on a CD. So basically, I just get influences and ideas from anywhere. If anything, rock would be the last thing I'd let myself be influenced by like that, because I know that the rock influence comes out naturally anyways, so rock is probably one of the least examples that I would actually choose from."

"When I was younger, all I wanted to do was play soccer! I had no idea about playing the guitar, really. I remember when I first heard Queen on record. I thought, I want to be in a band that sounds like this."

Which band member is most in need of a new hairdo?
"I would have to say, that would absolutely be... ME. You see, I've got naturally wavy, curly hair, and sometimes I really get fed up with it. I literally wash it and let it dry, and it just goes really fluffy, and sometimes I hate it! So, I'd say, out of everybody, I could definitely do with something new."

Talking about first auditioning Joe Elliott--
"He looked the part, which we felt was fifty percent of the thing anyway. And what's that we were doing, I think, what was it? Stairway to Heaven, we did Stairway to Heaven. And he did the first half of the song brilliantly. And then when he went into the heavy section he was supposed to go at least an octave higher and he kept singing it in the same octave and it was like...(pointing his finger upward) Joe, howsabout...Get up there, get up there, my son!"

"My hair's a wig."

About recording On Through The Night--
"We used to get drunk every night and still try and record, and it's like, totally young kids playing and being musicians and I think that's what it sounded like to me."

Speaking of the silliest thing he'd done during the Slang tour--
[Thinking hard] "Somebody else would probably say some of the outfits that I may wear, they were pretty silly. But I kinda liked them, so...!"

On performing with Ben E. King--
"This is a bit weird, this. This is something to tell me father and mother about."

"I think for every great success you have you probably have to go through something to actually get there. We've been through enough to sell millions of records!"

"It's basically like a traveling rock band. But I imagine it's a lot more hard working being in a circus."

Are the unbuttoned jeans just for "image reasons" or does it have a real purpose?

"[laughing] Partly because it got very uncomfortable running around on stage with jeans, because they're so thick! And I'd hate having a beergut hanging over the top of my jeans as well. So consequently, if you open the jeans up, you can move a lot better... and it smoothes your stomach out as well!"

"It's better than sex."

What's the best song ever?

"Oh, God..... Any Beatles song, most Queen songs ("BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY" springs to mind), Led Zeppelin's "STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN". I don't know, they're all pretty cliche, but..... I can't. People's opinions change from day to day and it depends how you're feeling. I'd be happy to listen to anything from Led Zeppelin, anything from Queen, and anything from The Beatles."

"I like people who are modest and not big-headed."

Sav on whether or not he'd ever played bass with fingers instead of a pick:
"Yeah, and it sounded bloody awful. Whenever I try playing with fingers, I get an uneven sound. Between different plucking fingers, some boom out, some disappear, you get clicks here and there. It's really hard..."

What are your favorite websites on the Internet?

"I don't regularly surf the Net, I probably only go online about once a week, just to pick up emails. But my most visited site would be the Sheffield Wednesday website, which has actually closed down three days ago! So I think they're revamping it. And today I actually was on the Def Leppard site once again."

Is Sav accident prone?
"Not really (laughs). I really shouldn't tell you this because it'll cast a bad light on Gary Moore- oh wee, that injury in '83, here's what happened: We were playing Alpine Valley with Gary Moore. He'd just finished his set and wanted to get from the side of the stage into the dressing area with these two girls. The girls didn't have the proper passes, so security stopped them. Gary got angry. He happened to have a Heineken beer bottle in his hand at the time. I was standing around in the corridor, talking to a fan. All of a sudden this beer bottle comes flying round the corner and catches me flush on the knee, cutting a big hole in my leather pants. This is 20 minutes before we're supposed to go onstage! Gary felt so bad- he's really a nice guy. Whenever I see him, he always asks, 'How's the knee?' I still got a scar."

What would surprise people about Sav?
"That I can be unpredictable, 90% of the time. I've always liked being the fulcrum of the band. I'm the one that can see things from both sides of any argument. Personality-wise, I'm a counter-balance. If something's missing, I supply it. Going out, when someone's over the top, I'll be introverted. If they're quiet, I'll be over the top. I'm easy-going, not many things make me angry. Sometimes I'm too easy-going-I let a lot of things slide. "

Does Sav see himself with a family?
It's miles off, but inevitable that it'll happen. I don't have any plans for it. I don't know when.

What kind of woman would it take?
I don't think there's one that exists.

"It's bizarre," reminisces Sav about Def Lep's history. "Every five minutes something would go wrong. Steve and I went through a shop window in my car. They took me off to jail; this was in Holland. Mutt, the producer was in the hospital, an accident on the same road. It's nobody's specific fault-stuff happens," says Sav diplomatically.

"I started out as a guitarist 20 years ago but we couldn't find a bass player, so I offered to play bass until we found one. We never did, thank God, otherwise I'd be fucked at this stage!"

"I'm a big radio person. I'm not one to like, get in the car and put a CD on - I never do that. I just listen to local radio. I've kind of got out of the habit of going to record stores and buying albums. It's pretty sad but I don't do that anymore."

"I got a story for you about a car! It was during the 'Hysteria' tour... I'd had a long term relationship with a girlfriend. We'd lived together and it was coming to an end for various reasons and we decided that we were going to split up. Unfortunately about two weeks before I had decided to buy her a Porsche - a brand new Porsche and I've never since bought a new car. It was a beautiful car, £72,000 it cost me back in 1988. So two weeks later we split up. I was still on tour and was going to be for another six months, so amongst other things she kept the car and the house - but that's another story - and we still kept in touch and we're still good friends and about four years ago, for no particular reason, she phoned me up and said 'How yah doing blah blah blah' and she said I just wanted to let you know I've had a baby daughter and I'm going to have to sell the Porsche. I just wanted to let you know and give you first option on it. So I said 'Well what are you looking to sell it for' and she said 'Well I'd like to get twenty grand for it.' So I thought about it and I loved the car and in fairness she would want me to have it more than just a stranger as she got attached to the car. So I've ended up buying the bloody car twice, so in total it's cost me ninety-two grand and it's not worth that much at all. So I think in answer to your question that's the most expensive thing I've ever bought. Well the Porsche is up for sale now because I can't stand driving it around Sheffield anymore. I'm so sick of driving a manual car, especially of that calibre because the pedals are so heavy, and as you know driving around Sheffield it's all hills and it's a nightmare, so I want to get an automatic. So at the moment the only other car we have is a Ford Galaxy which is just a family car. "

On contracting Bell's Palsey:
"It was hard to come to terms with and to understand why. I found it was easy to get into the 'why me?'-syndrome. Partly because of the disability. Not so much on a vanity level. It was more not being able to eat properly or not being able to sleep without putting a patch on your eye because your eye wouldn't close and things like that. That was the most affecting point. The effect that it has on your everyday life was the hardest thing. But you come to terms with it. It does improve and you kind of get used to it. In a way, we've had the best precedent ever with what Rick has dealt with. In comparison, it was a very minor debilitating disease. It keeps you humble seeing what Rick went through and how he had to deal with things. So, I would rather have not got the disease, but I did and you make the best of what you got. "

Is Sav comfy with his self-image now?
"No, even now, I'm a little self-conscious when having my photograph taken on a candid level. If they're posed shots then it's a different thing because you adopt a pose which you would probably adopt if you didn't have Bell's Palsy. It's the candid ones where the camera will just snap a split-second and they'll capture things that people don't see in real life. So there's certain shots where my mouth or my face can look slightly distorted or slightly uneven, when it's just a shot that you're not really ready for. Those are the things that I'm a little wary of. But that is purely just down to vanity more than anything else. I've also learned that the way that you see yourself in such detail compared to how the rest of the world looks at you, that it's really not worth getting too upset about. As an individual, you'll notice things about yourself that other people will just go, "What the fuck are you talking about?" They just don't see it. So it's not worth worrying about at all. "

If life experiences teaches us anything it should be that sometimes we have exactly what we need and want right before us. If we fail to acknowledge or appreciate it, just because it is not exactly how we want, it may be lost all together and we may never find that true moment of happiness we seek. Life is far from perfect and sometimes we spend so much time daydreaming and fantasizing we forget that real life, if we see it for it's wonders, can be just as sweet. Do the good things out weigh the bad? Maybe they are not there every moment, but they are there when it counts...that is what matters.

If the things that pay(or give something back)are more important than the things that don't....life will never hold any true value for you...

Happy Birthday Joe Elliott. Today 48 years ago this rockin front man was born. Where would Def Leppard be without him. well first it would not be called Def Leppard and I have a funny feeling Sav would have been a soccer star for sure. Well it's all about timing and fate, somethings are just meant to be I'm told. Yes I believe in destiny to a point but there has to be more. Some people with their intense personalities and drive usually make their mark either in the world or in a life. One person is all it takes to get the ball rolling. This ball started rollin long before the inception of the band. It began with the driven and determined mind of one born 48 years ago this day. Def Leppard existed in his mind. Fate, timing whatever it was sealed the deal, bringing together no 5 great talents but 7. Everyone has their time, comes into your life for a reason, whether for a moment or a season...

Well seems everyone is headed out and enjoying their concert. I've gotten several wonderful shots and video from eager members just having a blast at the shows this year. Sorry to say due to unforeseen circumstances I may be grounded this year. Well they are not going anywhere and there will be next year. The new CD should be out soon and we're all awaiting anxiously or is it anxiously awaiting.

Here ends the month again. Where does the time go. Well we welcome all concert footage and pics and hope everyone enjoys as they attend upcoming concerts. Well Laurie will soon have her video footage up in the new pages we've added especially for this years Def Leppard tour "The Thrust Tour." What an interesting theory. You can find Laurie's new video and concert pic pages under Rock of Ages. I'd like to thank our Moderator Lori who has and will also contribute her own footage and pics of the Cincinnati concert soon. I do have a promise of pics from the Kentucky concerts and Virginia but we will see hopefully that will be coming up as well.

Well seems we are full steam now. I've got tickets to the concert in Kentucky, Raleigh and workin on Atlanta...I might do Virginia not sure yet. Lookin forward to meeting some of you and havin a good time. Congrats on those who have gotten their tickets already and those who have not, Well what are you waiting for? Oh yeah way to go Laurie on your tickets to the Cincinnati concert and Lori of course. I know you two will hit it off wonderfully. Great for people to find reasons to get together and this is the best reason of all. So it seems every is all good and set as the wind sweeps your way. Congrats to all those people this past weekend than won Def Leppard tickets in their area and the back stage passes. Congrats to all those who managed the VIP tickets....(hell yeah Laurie this will be a good one for you this year). Our condolences to Vivian Campbell on the loss of two close friends last month. Our hearts definitely go out to anyone out there dealing with life's harsh realities.

A big Paper Sun heads up to all June birthday's. We've had a wonderful start to this year with the membership going up everyday and we ask that you all keep up the good work. Better late than never. So here goes hey everyone welcome to Paper Sun. I'd love to welcome all our new members and thank them for makin us the site to see. So a big Paper Sun nod to May birthdays. We'd love to hear your ideas and thoughts. Now the shows are beginning so we'd love to hear your stories, see your videos and share your pics. So I'd love to thank my Paper Sun staff for their hard work and dedication. They have truly brought things together and made this site rock. Thanks to my administrator Laurie for her persistence and wonderful work on all the pages. Special thanks to administrator, kitcat for her Sav pages and her new Joe and Sav page. I'd love to thank our wonderful administrator Cheryl for all her support. The schedules are out start making your plans. Get a babysitter, feed the dog, tie up the significant other...or vice versa. The concerts have begun and we need to be there. I've still not decided which one concert I will attend. There are so many possibilities. I thought maybe the Kentucky State fair now that would be interesting to see the Leps perform at a state fair or just a straight up venue. Somewhere in a closet I know i have a video camera, I think.

OK everyone this has been one hard transitional phase. Here we sit in the silent moments waiting for the next change or the next event. It is now time to stop holding are breaths and begin to make plans for the upcoming shows. It seemed to have a slow start but like everything good there is always the next step to look forward to and the next euphoric phase. Take it all in stride and pace yourself the best is yet to come. The rock brigade is on the move

A simple word for all involved and for a dear friend in times of trouble, Don't let your life stall over fluctuations in life's time line. Remember to look up and look around life only gets better from here. There is only to live for ourselves before we can live for another. Love is a wonderful and awe inspiring emotion but as anything else in life it has its ebbs and surges. You must endeavor to ride the waves of love through the smooth and the turbulent times. There are always the serene moments to hold on too and the turbulent ones to teach us a lesson in navigation. So from this day forward we all attempt the next turn and keep moving forward. Forgiveness for past transgressions is an important aspect of any relationship. In order to move forward you have to release the past misunderstandings otherwise it will only impede your progress. Remember a turbulent moment in any relationship or an argument does not mean the end only a breakthrough in the relationship. Sometimes you need to release the resentments, insecurities and fears to welcome the more positive happy, secure and safe moments into your lives. Nothing accomplished yesterday can be as sweet as what we can achieve tomorrow.

OK everyone today is obviously a very significant holiday for many. For those observing this day have a happy one , and for the rest of you evil people out there like myself..well find something productive to do...It seems we've noticed a little steam under the new Def Leppard tour. We've seen some addition to their schedule including appearances in July 28, 2007 at Frontier Days in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Seems they are spreading their wings and beginning to soar. Again as usual for those of you who can go bring us some video for those who can't well light your candles, cross your fingers, rub your Buddha, or hold your rabbits foot the Rock Brigade will be in your State soon enough. Seems like the quiet before the storm. I'm not sure about the rest of you but things have been very quiet around here and I keep waiting for that wind to blow. Will it blow Joe Elliott our way. I hope so. I know I can't miss this concert OK and if I do ( I can't even imagine why I would) then someone's gonna have to hold me down.

Seems we hear that the holidays are a hard time for many maybe it's the remembrance of others getting together and some being alone whether its a celebrated significant thing or not you can't help but feel the reverberations of the gathering of families and friends for those of you not gathering with today, no worries you are never as alone as you think you are. Someone is always listening, watching, waiting and caring. A big Paper Sun heads up to April Birthdays this month and any happy moments we may have missed and I can't end this without one for my guy. More dates have been added to the Lep tour in Michigan. Seems that the tour is getting underway. I know everyone is waiting in anticipation of their state mentioned or local. Yeah this is gonna be a long summer. Personally I might decided to just head up North and find me a date to attend. As for the present I will just sit here with my Def Leppard videos, cd's and pics trying to decide what next on the agenda. This month has just begun and I can't wait for it to end. Seems as if all has gone still today, the world has stop in anticipation of this brash and brazen heated summer of Lep Lust in the air. They never disappoint ladies bring your best game...watch out for the rock brigade....

Where Does Love go When it dies? The ever lasting question in a song by such a name...only Def Leppard could have put it out there in such a way. Well that's how we Lep fans feel. We may hear these words in other songs and never reach us where it counts. But to have Joe sound it out for us, express it the way only Joe can express it. Well there is nothing like it. He had us from the start with his raspy voice pipen out songs such as Bringin On the Heartbreak to Rock of Ages...Yeah we can't get over him. For some of us our first love, for others our continued adoration. When he looks into your eyes searching for that connection that moment of mutual understanding yeah that makes a difference. It can be expressed a million times in a million different ways, but until someone reaches out and just holds you, your attention you don't hear the words. "You'd die for love when its alive, where does love go when it dies?" yeah good question. When you find out let me know. For some it touches us where we exist in our very essence as if he speaks only to you. Yeah that's Joe for you a passionate man if ever one did exist. Well we can't forget the others. I love Phil's rendition of Stay with Me. I can relate to it...seriously, been there done that even thought and said those words. You have to love it. Is that what keeps us coming back that we can relate to them to their sound to their words to their understanding of us. They have found a way to relate to us when we were young and out there and trying to learn and explore life, to now when we most live in our hearts and minds. Yeah they reach us where we live...

All is quiet on the home front... the beginning of stirrings and echoes of tours in the horizon. We would all love to see every concert and cheer at every venue. When all else fails buy the music, display their images, wear their shirts (not literally unless you are that fortunate) and of course request their music where ever you go. Random sitings of that hot babe Rick "Sav" Savage and that stone cold fox with the green eyes none other the lead man Joe Elliott, have been reported throughout. Would love pictures of those guys just roamin if you can share please do we'd love to see them. Do your best to support the guys and remind them how much they are loved. Oh lookin all day today through Def Leppard songs trying to find the right ones to put on the new front page play list I was amazed at the bevy of possibilities. While i was lookin it occurred to me that they have a lot of love songs. After listening to the lyrics and some are quit intriguing and poetic. Can you imagine just the heart wrenching lyrics and their effects on the soul. It makes you wonder. They are not afraid to write loves songs. From beginning to present the evolution of their writing styles is quite affecting. They speak of their innocent youthful lust to their mature life altering losses. Joe has mentioned in the past their music is opened for all to enjoy with no real meaning. Well I do tend to agree although you must have a certain experience and understanding to be able to write some of the lyrics they have written. The progression of their music through the years is quite apparent. Everyday I discover a Lep song all over. It is quite the wonderful exploratory event. I'm usually quite taken aback by their words. I would not count the Leps out for those who seem to do so easily as for the true lep fans we are quite aware of their enduring talents in all aspects of the Rock scene. Rock On

Oh you know my latest Joe obsession has begun. As Laurie goes through different videos to add to our pages she discovers this awesome "Let's Get Rocked" video with Joe in rare form. It makes you wanna get up and jam with him but what's new there you always want to get up and jam with Joe. Heads up to Sav in shorts in this one, always a nice site to behold. I hear the first signs of a Lep tour this summer. This news has everyone up in arms and ready to rock. In this warm little corner of the world called Lepville we seem to get lost on the nostalgia of yesterday. There is always today to look forward to and tomorrow. I've been going through different critical music sites to find the usual Def Leppard bashin crowd and of course their defenders. For those out there wishin to find a safe place to voice your Lep opinions I say you've found it. We've posted a link to one of those site feel free to attend and some lep knowledge. This has been a hard week for everyone all around. We've had some wonderful contributory aspect and a few disappointing outcomes all and all we are still here and as a good friend would say "We're hangin" (hey there Laurie). So For all those wanting to contribute your suggestions and contributions are always welcome. Please do not feel offended if we don't readily integrate your ideas into our site. There is room for all; we must take it one moment at a time. The site is constantly evolving and growing, for the full effect take a look around often. Ok enough with the dry informative aspects. I usually have a word or two to say to reach to a friend or two out there on situations in their lives (yes this is all about the Leps but its also about US the fans) Well here goes....Sometimes we tend to forget within our own realm there are real feelings involved and we tend to bump into each other...I hope my friends out there realize there is no bruising or bashing intended we love you all and welcome you into our little family. This ones for me because I really need to learn to take my own advice. Learn to live in the moment and accept happiness when it comes. If things don't always work as you expected cultivate new knowledge from that experience, ride that moment for all its worth and look back with sweet remembrance. I've heard many a time there is a Def Leppard song for every occasion. They have been around long enough and have had enough hits to span the whole range of human emotion from the deepest despair to the highest reaches of euphoria. As I was fixin broken links on videos I read some of the comments and was astonished at the utter resentment some have at the group's expansive repertoire. Some do not understand the natural evolutionary changes and mental and emotional growth; band musical aspects must change, grow and expand. "I guess what I'm tryin to say" is that you can't live in the past and you can't get stuck in the present, you must grow emotionally and mentally and look to the future. You can't change what has happened and you can't fix what is happening but you can change what will happen. I have a friend out there and you know who you are having a hard time at this moment. I know if you sit and listen to your lep cd's you have found a song that is pullin at the strings of your heart and wrappin itself around your soul. All is not lost my friend. Don't look to the past for answers don't sit in the now waiting for things to change. Stand up and look to what will come. Hold on to those you love and rock to the rhythm of The Def Leppard Revolution. Live for today what you want to celebrate tomorrow..."Your halo of thorns is fallin,blood runs cold, I feel it in my bones, but you don't know your time is up..." I have a long long way to go. Well I had this wonderful long blog here and my computer froze, go figure. So therefore it is gone. I see it as maybe it was not meant to be here or it didn't belong. It had this wonderfully poetic image of paths taken and missing of the scenery and such. But now that I think about it kinda depressing really. It also had something about me basking in the light of Joe's garden...Well suffice it to say it's all about Joe Elliott, but alas you all know that as well. So we live another day spend another moment just awaitin and playin those Cd's searchin for those ever elusive DvD's and of course those images we just can't get enough. There are also those videos we'd all love to see here and share. Well some people don't like to share so alas we don't have all the videos. The good news is with all the right connections and the proper know how we'll make it happen. Well this is for a young lady, she knows who she is, that needs to be reminded not to rush through her road trip. She may miss out on the big ball of yarn or the random oddity. Take your time look around and check out the sites. It'll give you something to look back . Oh yeah for those who forgot belated birthday cards are welcome... I guess I've arrived I now have a fan and a stalker...I'm officially hotter today than I was yesterday. Stalk away I welcome the attention, but don't forget to buy Def Leppard Cd's if you wanna keep lookin through my trash, mail and windows. A bevy of fans always ready to rock to a lep song...now that is what i think of when i sign in to Paper Sun. Makes me quite proud to be a part. I've noticed that lately we have new members. I'd like to take a moment to say hi to all the new members and to welcome them to our site. We are definitely a diverse group. I wear my lep shirts and I have my lep screen savers and wall papers. I have my Def Leppard bumper sticker and now I have a vanity plate. Well it seems that it just brings out the Lep fan in those who have forgotten how good it was to attend a concert or hear their music on the radio. We need to get together and make that happen. Make those requests and strut your stuff. Someone has to help pay for Joe's Garage...no seriously. I know some of those people out there that protest and say the leps are no good many a time they are the first to crank it up when Pour Some Sugar on Me comes on the radio or when Rocket or Animal, Rock of Age, Rock Rock til Your Drop...when those songs play radio volumes go up and you can't help but go with the flow. Watchin the guys jam in concert is like no other feeling imaginable, the electrified energy of the crowd and the powerful presence of the guys themselves can set the arena on fire. Watchin them on video you can't help but just let go. Now you ladies know what i mean. They definitely play to everyone but it is quite obvious they are thinking about ME!!!! Ok well wishful thinkin I know but what can I say. Every woman reading this is thinkin the same thing. Well for good measure I've watched guys just rockin with the band at concerts. Now where do we go from here. Well we sit and wait and we remind others of the band and we promote and recruit. We show our Lep colours, what else. It is a funny thing when you begin to converse with other Def Leppard fans. You find yourself having the oddest, yet quite interesting, lively conversations. You also begin to realize that other than having fantastic taste in music we have other common bonds. We come from all stations and social circles and we may not always agree on all major life subjects but we agree on one thing...Def Leppard is the best band in the world. We definitely don't agree on who's the sexiest Lep, that's a hard sell. We all know it's Joe...ok just don't tell Jenna shshsh. We are quite a diverse group. For some it is but a passing fancy for others it becomes a lifetime of memories each postmarked by a Lep song or concert reaching into the core of our souls and we remember where we were in that moment and how we may have felt. Music is more than sound it has a physical and emotional presence in our lives. The Leps have found a way to touch that in people by sharing their version of life. For long time fans they have become part of our families and for others they are just but the gorgeous untouchables....Well they are far from untouchable as they have reached over the sands of time to touch our souls and to allow us, as their fans a glimpse into their lives and to be a part. With this site we all endeavor to share our thoughts and ideas. No comment is too small and no comment is insignificant. Early morning sitting writing my usual or at least trying to right a paragraph and nothing would come. Then as tea time approaches, there it was the phone call I was not expecting, to include several text messages and instant messages from angry lep fans concerning the Q Magazine review of the Yeah CD. I listened with little interest at first, then decided to see what was lighting a fire under so many. There it was in bold lettering "5 worst Albums of 2006" and right there on the list Def leppard's Cd Yeah. I thought the gentleman had to be sadly mistaken or several meters underground in some bunker because all those lep fans simply can't be imagining the fantastic performance and musical style espoused in Yeah. Def Leppard has again achieved the improbable and filled stadiums during a time when it is not feasible to do so. It also seems that without much promotion they have managed to come out on top. During this tour I anxiously followed every article on the band with great anticipation. With little deviation the articles seemed to agree as they moved from stadium to stadium and town to town the leps left behind a trail of well rocked and satisfied fans anxiously awaiting a welcomed return. There will always be detractors as the leps have those who do not approve but they are so greatly outweighed by the booming sound of the fans reminding the Leps once again they are loved, admired and honoured. We can't simply imagine a time when they will not be. In the process of seemingly downplaying their performance Q Magazine has managed to bring a bit of notoriety to the band because as they say even bad press is better than no press at all...Joe's point was at least they were the only band to get their picture printed...To Q magazine: All you have managed to do in all this is give the Leps a good laugh and alienated a portion of your audience who loves the guys and their creative, intense musical talents. Remember a time when 5 young Leppards tried in a difficult market to show their stuff and shine...again magazine articles of their impending demise and unimaginative riffs and lyrics hit the print. In true Lep tradition they proved that sometimes critics or in their case most time critics are far behind the times and off the mark when it comes to minding the pulse of the ever changing music industry and its ever so fickle fan base. To all those who attended Def Leppard concerts you know of what I speak and to those who have yet to do so...You're in for one hell of a treat. Rock Rock til ya drop!!!
